What does Etsy take at different Indian sale prices?

Because most fees are percentages but the listing fee and the fixed part of processing are flat, the effective rate shrinks as the order grows. GST at 18% is applied to the fee subtotal and included below. Examples assume free shipping and no Offsite Ads.

Shipping you charge the buyer is part of the order total, so a ₹2,000 item with ₹400 shipping is calculated on ₹2,400, not ₹2,000. The calculator above handles that automatically.

Which Etsy fee do Indian sellers underestimate most?

GST on fees. It never appears in US-focused advice, yet it adds nearly a fifth to every Etsy fee you pay. A fee stack that looks like 11.8% is really about 13.9% after GST, and that gap is pure margin.

Second is the payment processing fee itself: at 5% + ₹25, Indian shops pay a heavier processing rate than US or UK shops. Add the 12% or 15% Offsite Ads fee on ad orders, and stress-testing your price is not optional. Use the toggle above to check the 12% case.

Etsy India fee questions, answered straight

What fees does Etsy charge Indian sellers in 2026?
Five charges: a $0.20 USD listing fee per item (about ₹17), a 6.5% transaction fee on item price plus shipping, payment processing of 5% + ₹25, a 0.29% regulatory operating fee, and 18% GST on all of those. A sixth charge of 12% or 15% applies only to orders that come through Etsy's Offsite Ads.
How much are Etsy fees on a ₹2,000 item in India?
On a ₹2,000 sale with free shipping: listing about ₹17, transaction ₹130, processing ₹125, regulatory ₹5.80, then 18% GST on the ₹277.80 subtotal (₹50). Etsy takes about ₹327.80 in total, roughly 16.4%. If the buyer arrived through an Offsite Ad, add another ₹240 plus GST at the 12% rate.
Does the 6.5% transaction fee apply to shipping?
Yes. Etsy charges the 6.5% transaction fee on the full order amount, which includes shipping and gift wrap you charge the buyer. The 5% processing percentage and 0.29% regulatory fee apply to it too.
What is the difference between the listing fee and the transaction fee?
The listing fee is a flat $0.20 USD (about ₹17) charged when you publish or renew a listing, and again each time the item sells. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the order total, charged only when a sale happens. You pay both on every sale.
When does Etsy charge the Offsite Ads fee?
Only when a sale is attributed to Etsy's Offsite Ads: a buyer clicks an ad Etsy placed for your listing on Google or a partner site, then buys within 30 days. The fee is 12% of the order total for shops that made over $10,000 USD in the past year (required participation), or 15% for smaller shops that opted in voluntarily, plus GST either way.
Are there any monthly fees to sell on Etsy India?
No. A standard Etsy shop has no subscription cost; you only pay per-sale fees plus the listing fee. Etsy Plus, an optional plan with listing credits, is not required to sell.
