Where the money goes on an Indian Printify order
A ₹2,250 sale splits three ways. The buyer pays Etsy, Etsy removes its fees plus GST and deposits the rest, and Printify bills you separately for production and shipping. Neither side shows you the other one's cut.
| Line | Amount | Who takes it |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer pays | ₹2,250.00 | Etsy checkout |
| Etsy fees incl. GST | − ₹362.58 | Etsy |
| Etsy payout to you | ₹1,887.42 | Your bank |
| Classic tee base + shipping | − ₹1,185.00 | Printify |
| Your true profit | ₹702.42 (31.2%) | You |
The two charges never appear on the same statement, which is why sellers who feel busy can still be broke. Run your five best sellers through the calculator with their real Printify costs; the answer is often surprising.
How do I raise Printify margins without raising prices?
Switch print providers inside Printify. The same Bella+Canvas tee can differ by ₹80 to ₹170 between providers, and shipping rates differ too. The cheapest provider with a 9+ rating is usually indistinguishable to the buyer.
Consider Premium at volume. Up to 20% off base costs for a flat monthly fee starts paying off around 15 orders a month. Below that threshold it eats margin instead of adding it.
Sell heavier carts. Two shirts in one order pay one listing fee and often one combined shipping rate, while the percentage fees stay flat. Bundles raise margin per order more reliably than price hikes.
