Fee assumptions

Regional assumptions: Canada
Canadian defaults use CAD, 3% + C$0.25 processing for domestic/US orders, a 0.50% regulatory fee and an illustrative 5% tax on fees. Other international orders use 4% processing; change the field. GST/HST and provincial taxes depend on your circumstances and invoice.
When pricing Printful orders for Canadian buyers, check whether the quoted delivery and tax match the actual route and province. The tool's 5% tax setting concerns Etsy fees; it should not replace the tax amounts or treatment on the fulfilment invoice.

Separate fulfilment cost from the Etsy remainder
Printful defines retail-price profit in relation to what the customer pays and what fulfilment costs. Selling on Etsy adds marketplace deductions to that comparison. The example below separates the customer payment, Etsy fees and illustrative Printful product-plus-shipping cost.

Inputs for the Printful profit calculator
A blank product's starting cost is not enough when the order adds print placements, embroidery, labels or other fulfilment options. Build the specification first, then use its actual quote. Where a one-time setup charge applies, decide whether one order bears it or whether you will allocate it across a conservative number of orders.
Include only costs you actually incur and avoid charging the same setup expense twice. Product availability, eligible options and pricing can change, so use the quote for the exact variant and fulfilment destination rather than treating an example T-shirt as representative of every Printful product.
Cost a Canada Printful offer in CAD
Suppose an illustrative free-shipping order sells for $47.60, with $19.04 production and $6.80 delivery. Estimated Etsy fees are $5.54, leaving $16.22 before other costs. These CAD examples use one item, 3% + $0.25 payment processing, 0.5% regulatory fees and an assumed 5% tax on modelled Etsy fees. The baseline has no separately collected buyer tax, seller-remitted tax or conversion charge entered. Listing and ad-cap conversions are illustrative; adjust them and fee tax to your invoice.
An optional decoration costing $4.08 reduces contribution by that amount when the price stays fixed. If the selling price also rises, recalculate percentage-based Etsy charges and their estimated tax. These amounts illustrate arithmetic and are not current Printful quotes.
Check whether shipping is shared or split
A cart containing different product categories can have a different fulfilment structure from one item. Use the actual order quote to establish shipping, packaging and any separate fulfilment charges. Do not assume the additional-item shipping amount for one product applies to every mixed basket.
For the single-item model here, enter the shipping charge attributable to that item. Multi-item order profitability needs basket-level treatment of shipping, listing quantities and the fixed processing fee, which should not be multiplied once per item without checking.
Evaluate discounts against the actual product mix
If you have access to a discounted rate or paid programme, compare the current quoted cost of the exact item with the alternative. A headline saving is not evidence that your shipping or every optional service receives the same discount.
Allocate a subscription across a realistic order count. A hypothetical $32.64 period cost over eight orders adds $4.08 to each; over 24 it adds $1.36. Use actual programme charges and a consistent CAD conversion basis.
Keep a record of the offer you priced
Record product, variant, print specification, destination, shipping service, quoted cost and the date. That gives you a clear comparison when an invoice differs from your original estimate. It also prevents an older low-cost configuration from being reused for a more expensive customised listing.
