Etsy Pricing Calculator India
Published fee rules reviewed:
Sources and calculation assumptions. Payment processing. Regulatory operating fee. Offsite Ads fee. Tax on Etsy fees (%).
Fee review is over 30 days old. Check the official sources and your invoice before relying on this estimate.
Enter valid nonnegative amounts. Choose a buyer-tax amount or a rate, and enter a positive order value.
Other costs per order
Add only costs not already included above. Allocate subscriptions, listing renewals, expected losses and overhead using your own sales assumptions.
Fee assumptions
Use a buyer-tax amount OR rate, never both. The rate scales with price and shipping; a fixed amount stays unchanged in price scenarios. Seller tax is deducted from tax-inclusive revenue. Use costs net of recoverable tax.
Fee tax is a uniform estimate on all modelled fees. Actual taxable fee categories and tax registration can change the amount; reconcile to your Etsy invoice.
Use 2.5% only when listing and payment-account currencies differ. Enter all amounts in the displayed currency; no live currency exchange is performed.

Scenarios use your inputs and assume one completed order. Margin uses gross order revenue. These are sensitivity checks, not sales forecasts or probabilities.
One item per completed order. Use discounted prices and actual costs in the displayed currency. Presets and non-USD fee conversions are illustrative. Tax rates, currency conversion and allocated costs apply only as entered. This is an order estimate, not a tax return or payout reconciliation. Refunds, income tax and payment-provider charges are not automatically determined.
Find a listing price that covers your entered costs and a chosen profit margin. Compare shipping charges, fee assumptions and Offsite Ads before running a sale.
Calculate my estimateHow do you calculate a selling price after Etsy fees?
Work backwards from total costs and the margin you want to retain. When fees are uncapped, required order revenue equals costs plus fixed fees, divided by one minus percentage fees and target margin. The Etsy pricing calculator handles fee tax and the Offsite Ads cap, then subtracts shipping collected to show the item price.
Regional assumptions: India
Indian defaults use INR, 5% + โน25 payment processing, a 0.05% regulatory fee and an illustrative 18% tax on Etsy fees. Listing and ad-cap conversions are adjustable examples. Payoneer, currency conversion, withholding and seller-remitted tax are outside the automatic estimate.
Choose a consistent INR basis for selling price, manufacturing and delivery before solving an Indian price. If your supplier quote or settlement is in USD, use your actual conversion basis. The solver does not automatically deduct payment-service fees, withholding or export-related costs.

Etsy pricing calculator: compare margin targets
The examples below use the same illustrative production and shipping costs for each row, with no separately collected buyer tax. Changing the target margin changes the required price; the advertising column shows the additional revenue needed when a 12% Offsite Ads fee applies.
| Target margin | Required listing price | With 12% Offsite Ads modelled |
|---|---|---|
| 20% | โน1,860.09 | โน2,364.56 |
| 30% | โน2,190.07 | โน2,924.74 |
| 40% | โน2,662.36 | โน3,832.73 |
| 50% | โน3,394.36 | โน5,558.33 |

Table uses the default assumptions, one item, no buyer tax and no Offsite Ads unless shown. Editing the calculator does not change this example.
A target of 40% is an input choice, not a recommended margin for every Etsy shop. Replace the example costs above with your own bill of materials, labour allowance and postage. Prices are rounded up to the next cent so rounding does not reduce the calculated target.
Margin and markup use different denominators
Before marketplace fees, a โน996.00 cost sold for โน1,660.00 has 40% margin on revenue and about 66.7% markup on cost. Adding 40% to cost does not create a 40% margin. Etsy fees reduce the retained amount again.
Use the target-margin field for the share of order revenue you want remaining after the modelled fees and entered costs. For a break-even estimate, enter 0%. Break-even covers only the expenses you include, not unknown future returns or monthly bills left outside the calculation.
Solve a INR handmade price with labour included
Use โน664.00 of materials, โน581.00 of labour and โน332.00 of postage as illustrative India inputs. At a 30% target margin, the shared solver requires โน2,885.46 with free shipping. If you collect โน415.00 for shipping instead, the required item price is โน2,470.46. These INR examples use one item, 5% + โน25.00 payment processing, 0.05% regulatory fees and an assumed 18% tax on modelled Etsy fees. The baseline has no separately collected buyer tax, seller-remitted tax or conversion charge entered. Listing and ad-cap conversions are illustrative; adjust them and fee tax to your invoice.
Enter your actual costs and invoice tax settings before using that price. The seller-remitted tax field can model tax already included in revenue at a rate you supply; the tool does not determine which taxes you owe. Buyer demand and settlement charges remain separate decisions.
Find a discount limit before scheduling a sale
If your calculated item-price floor is โน2,656.00 and the usual price is โน3,320.00, a 20% discount reaches the floor. A larger discount misses the target unless costs, shipping revenue or fee assumptions change. Recheck the actual discounted price in INR.
Enter the actual discounted price in the calculator to verify it rather than relying only on the percentage. Coupons that also remove shipping revenue require another adjustment. Do not assume a larger order volume will compensate for a loss on every unit.
Why price increases also increase some fees
Under these India no-ad assumptions, an extra โน1.00 of order revenue adds about โน0.86 to contribution before display rounding. With uncapped 15% Offsite Ads it adds about โน0.69. Percentage fees and estimated tax on them absorb the remainder.
The inverse calculation accounts for this feedback. Once an Offsite Ads order reaches the cap, its advertising cost stops rising with order value in the model, so the required-price equation changes. The solver checks that capped case as well.
Separate a cost floor from a pricing experiment
Use the calculated price to understand the economics of your offer. Then assess comparable products, your differentiation and observed conversion at actual prices. A calculator cannot tell you that an increase will preserve sales or that a specific ending such as .99 will outperform another.
Review the price after a provider cost change, a new shipping destination or a different ad mix. If the target is unreachable at a realistic selling price, reconsider the cost structure or product offer rather than treating the solver's output as a market recommendation.
